Dare to Believe: Week Ten

by Jim Hockaday

Do you realize what God has done for you? What do you think of when you think of yourself? If you see yourself as a miserable creature, undeserving of anything, you will not have confidence. On the other hand, if you see yourself as though you’ve never been a sinner, but as a child of God, you will have confidence.

Your faith is directly related to your self-image. For years churches have failed to give people a proper understanding of their benefits and privileges as new creations in Christ. The fact that God loved you enough to save you shows the value He places on you—He invites you to ask.

“Father, help me to see myself as You see me today. Reveal to me Your purposes and plans for my life. Let my vision be clear, and let the thoughts I have of myself please You. May I never weaken or undermine my faith through negative thoughts or emotions.”
